Using my BabyCakes Cake Pop Maker

November 2, 2013 By Ligia

Last week I posted about great deal I got at Kohl’s for a Baby Cakes Cake Pop Maker. I just received it and I am soooo excited about using it for my daughter’s birthday.

Last year I created a gumball cake see post for her 12th birthday. This year, for her 13th, we are making cake pops. This weekend and into the week I am going to “experiement” I want to share some videos I found and later I’ll share my creations.
Here is a simple video on using the Baby Cakes Cake Pop Maker:

and here is another where you learn how to make cake pops if you don’t have the cake pop maker:

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Time

October 30, 2013 By Ligia

It’s time to start thinking about making our shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is my 16th year being involved. I started off just doing one. Then when I had my daughter, we did a girl box. When my son was born, we did one of each. Last year, the kids did 2 each- one girl and one boy the same age as them. This year, we plan to fill a shoe box for each age level-one boy and one girl. So our family goal is 6 boxes.

Here is a link to a fun Veggie Tale video about this program:

Here is our boxes from last year, I’ll post this year’s soon.

Crockpot: Gluten Free Maple Dijon Chicken Thighs

October 30, 2013 By Ligia

I am posting Gluten Free Crockpot Meals that I try out for the first time. Here is last weeks post for Broccoli Beef. This week I tried a chicken dish. My goal is to get 5-6 Crockpot meals that I can rotate throughout the month. So here is the recipe:

IMG_1909

6-8 Chicken Thighs
1/2 c. Dijon Mustard
1/4 c. maple syrup
1T Rice Wine Vinegar
1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 onion (I didn’t use)

Spray crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
Put chicken in crockpot
Mix first 3 ingredients (after chicken) and pour over chicken
Add mushrooms and onions
Cook on low for 6 hours.

I found this recipe at Who Needs a Cape
I am sharing this recipe on Gluten Free Wednesdays.
