Simplify & Plan 2014: Simplify my inbox

December 30, 2013 By Ligia

I think  sometimes I live up to my name too much. “BUSY MOM” I am certainly not busier than any of my friends, but maybe I make myself more “busier”. For example:

My inbox: I get so much junk email. I delete more than HALF of my emails without even looking at them.  I check my email 2-3 times a day. Is that necessary? So I am starting by taking the advice of Celebrate Every Day with Me and doing the Seven tasks that she recommends for simplifying your life starting with number #1.

Unsubscribe to unnecessary emails.

I am going to try and do all seven by the 31st. So I’m starting right now!

Advent Week Three: Shepherds Candle

December 16, 2013 By Ligia

Here is the link to the Third Advent Day: the Shepherds Candle. Our advent takes only 5-10 minutes, so it’s not as if Advent takes a lot of prep or time. It is however, 5-10 minutes that we focus on the real reason for Christmas. I hope that my children continue this tradition with their children.

Advent Week Two – The Bethlehem Candle

December 9, 2013 By Ligia

Ugh, didn’t get a chance to post this yesterday. We got our tree and spent the afternoon decorating. I did manage to get a few minutes in the evening to do our own Advent. Although this is tradition I did not grow up with, I started in when my children were very young. It has evolved from its early beginnings, for example singing (they don’t want to do it anymore). So this next week, I am going to ask my daughter to play a Christmas piece on the piano instead.

I have come to love and cherish this tradition.  Even if for just 5 minutes on Sunday evening, we take the focus off of us and put it on CHRISTmas.
