Say Good-Bye to Survival Mode Freebie

January 30, 2014 By Ligia

I found a Freebie!

Last week I posted about the book Say Goodbye to Survival Mode and even did the Seven Day Challenge author Crystal Paine posted on her Blog Money Saving Mom (one of my favorites) . I also included it on my “To Read List” because I think it is definitely worth reading.

Today I noticed the Educent has Say Goodbye to Survival Mode Printable Pack as a freebie.  I haven’t yet got the book, but I went ahead and got the printable pack so I can look it over. So head over to Educents.

7 Day Challenge Day #7: Celebrate!

January 23, 2014 By Ligia

For the last challenge of the 7 Day Challenge I need to Celebrate! The challenge is to make a list of 10-15 things I like to do and do one today!

So here is  my list of 10 things I like to do:

1. Sleeping!

2. Reading

3. Eating!

4. Playing on the computer (like blogging, face booking etc)

5. Dreaming…for the future

6. Homeschool planning (so weird)

7. Scrapbooking

8. Watching Once Upon a Time with my teen

9. Visiting with friends

10. Organizing

I know not very interesting. I do have other “dream” things I WANT to do like: Cake decorating, sewing, etc

So today, I am going to spend 1 hour scrapbooking. I haven’t done it in MONTHS and watch our TV show with my KDBear.

Gluten Free Cream of Mix: S.O.S.

January 22, 2014 By Ligia

The S.O.S. Mix is soup or sauce mix. It is used for those pesky “Cream of” soups that are so often in recipes. I have given them up completely.
Until Now.
I made a double batch and I’m collecting recipes that I will try in the next few weeks.
Here is the link where I found this recipe: One Good Thing.

Ingredients
2 cups powdered non fat milk
3/4 cup cornstarch ( potato starch or tapioca starch will work too)
1/4 cup instant boullion ( I used Herb OX, but I am considering trying a different brand Orrington Farms so I don’t get MSG in my food)
2 Tbsp dried onion flakes
2 tsp. italian seasoning (optional)

Directions
Combine all ingredients in a recloseable plastic bag, mixing well. ( I used a plastic bin)
Equal to 9 (10.5 oz) cans of cream soup.IMG_2468

In One Good Thing’s post there is a link to a printable booklet using this S.O.S. Mix. I printed it out and picked 2-3 recipes that my family and I would like. Here is that link: S.O.S. Mix Recipes.

I am so excited about this mix. I also made taco seasoning and meat rub that I will share about next Wednesday.

I am sharing this recipe on Gluten Free Wednesdays.
