My first bag is ready to go!

I do not have much in it, but it is all New with tags. Let’s just say I have put on a few pounds….ugh. So I am sending my very best stuff to ThredUP in hopes that I will get the very best price. I can’t wait to find out what I end up getting. I won’t lie, I will be very disappointed if it is less than $30 bucks. I paid $70-$90 at least. All the pieces are Ann Taylor Loft or Banana Republic.

I have lots of nice used items but I am worried that they will not want it and donate it away! The whole point of this is for me to make some money to replace these items!!! I could pay $12.99 for them to return the pieces they reject, but then there goes my profit.

So I am going to do most of my selling on Tradesy.com. That will be my next post on “Selling My Stuff”

I am contemplating using Thredup.com or Tradesy.com to sell some nice, new or almost new clothing on-line. I have always sold my clothing on Facebook Swap groups, ebay, and garage sales, but these are nice designer brands. I don’t feel like I will get the value that I want using those resources. I found an article in Family Circle Magazine that featured these two companies as options. Here is the toss up:

Thredup.com:

You May receive up to 40% of your chosen items’ resale value up front.

You get instant store credit or Paypal payment (love that).

They send you a Clean OUT Bag to fill up and it ships to for free back to them.

They list it all, I just wait for my money.

If your items are not accepted they are donated. (This is the part I don’t like) You can pay $12.99 for them to return what they don’t want.

Tradesy.com

On this site  you list your clothing and accessories. Similar to ebay, you need to take your own pictures and post them.

According to the Family Circle article,  you can make the greatest profit possible from your gently used clothing. Tradesy takes only a 9% commission.

When an item sells they send you a shipping kit for free with shipping materials and postage! (that is awesome)

Returns are sent to Tradesy instead of seller.

They also pay through paypal.com.

So here is what I am thinking:

I am going to try both! I am going to keep half the items here and list on Tradesy and send the other half to Thredup and see which one benefits me the most!

So wish me luck! I am trying to fund my Christmas Shopping!
