September Reading List 2013

September 5, 2013 By Ligia

I am excited to report that I actually did the reading I set out to do this summer! I posted my summer reading list here AND I even started another book. So this month, and possibly even into October since I had a late start, I am going to read the following books:

A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks

Captured By Grace: No One is Beyond the Reach of a Loving God by David Jeremiah

Who You Are When No One’s Looking: Choosing Consistency, Resisting Compromise by Bill Hybels

This last one is the one I started reading at the end of August, so I am hoping that I can get all three done. I should be reading a book about homeschooling or something educational, but right now I am kind of burnt out on homeschool books….

Maybe next month.

Summer Reading List 2013

June 7, 2013 By Ligia

In a January post Reading List for 2013 I wrote that I would be reading 2 books a month; one for pleasure and one for education. I’ve been feeling like I haven’t hit the mark. Then I remembered all the eb00ks I’ve been reading and I thought “that counts!”.

I’ve mentioned some in different posts, but here is my list from Amazon Kindle:

Back to Basics: Raising Self-Sufficient Children

Planning High School Courses: Charting the Course Toward High School Graduation (Coffee Break Books)

Homeschooling Boys – Gaining Maximum Success from Minimum Cooperation

Here is an e-book  I’ve read online:

Transcripts Made Easy: The Homeschoolers Guide to High School Paperwork

So, even though I haven’t “planned out” my reading and haven’t finished some of the books I started, I am doing pretty good.

Here is my summer reading list:

Finish Blue Shoes and Happiness: A No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency Book 7)

10 Ways to Prepare Your Daughter for Life

The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling Teens

I’m excited about reading these! I’m planning to make some iced tea and relax in my backyard. We’ll see how that goes.

Taking a Break in Lake Tahoe

June 4, 2013 By Ligia

We Busy Moms need breaks too! Time for reading, thinking, planning, dreaming, and, yes, sleeping.

Busy Kids taking a break

Busy Mom and Kids are taking a break in lovely Lake Tahoe, CA. We are visiting my in laws in Nevada and spent the day at the beautiful beach of Lake Tahoe. I will be back in 2 days!
