Freebie: Overcoming Your Fear of Homeschooling

April 25, 2013 By Ligia

I found this wonderful website called Learning Abled Kids and the author of this site is offering her new eBook for free today:

Here is a synopsis of her book:

“If you are at an educational crossroad and are considering homeschooling your child(ren), this book is written to help bring clarity to your understanding of how homeschooling really works by providing information from within the lifestyle. The aim of this book is to add clarity to your decision about whether homeschooling will work for you and your family by providing you with facts and insider insights.”

I personally have been working through some learning issues with my son and reading her blog has givne me encouragement. Here is what she says about her blog:

“Do you doubt you can help your child overcome learning disabilities? Are seeking buried treasures of wisdom about how to help your child overcome learning disabilities?  Well, I have excellent news for you! Learning Abled Kids is and always has been here to help you figure out how to meet your child’s unique learning needs to enable him or her to overcome learning difficulties.”

I hope that Learning Abled Kids will encourage others to continue homeschooling!

Wonderful Curriculum Site: Homeschool Buyers Co-op

April 22, 2013 By Ligia

I am so thrilled to have found this site, Homeschool Buyers Co-op. It is similar to the “deals” sites like Groupon, Living Social, etc that I love to buy from, but this website, however, is ALL homeschool curriculum.
The Homeschool Buyer Co-op is a free homeschooling organization for both new and veteran homeschoolers.  Co-op membership is free and confidential, and entitles homeschooling families to GroupBuy discounts on high-quality curriculum.  On the site you’ll find lots of free information, such as databases of free curriculum, field trips, and educational contests and scholarships. Click here for more information.
I have purchased some really great deals and I am excited to buy more. Plus there is free items too. I got a free membership until August 31st to Mathhelp.com. I  purchased Learning Assessments for my children that would have cost me around $80 for 50% off at A Self Portrait. I will probably purchase my Monarch membership from Alpha and Omega through them too so I can get the Smart points.

That is just the tip of the iceberg here are some other benefits of joining:

  • Free homeschool ID cards
  • Homeschool classifieds
  • Smart points (earned by purchasing and used for purchasing more)

I visit the site everyday, just to see what else is new!
