Christmas Tip #3: Holiday Planner

November 5, 2012 By Ligia

As the holidays approach, I am getting out my Christmas Holiday Planner. Yes, most people do NOT have a Christmas planner, but then most people are not me. I have to have every detail written down starting with this week. I go to this amazing site called Organized Christmas. I print out my Countdown Calendar (which by the way started LAST week so I am behind) and all the other work sheets I will need to get my holidays in full swing.

Here is the list of worksheets I print off each year:
Get Organized Checklist
Reality Week Checklist
Gifts and Giving Week
Get Cooking Week
Decorate Week
Celebrate Week
Holidays Values Worksheet
Master Gift List
Gifts to Make List
Catalog and Internet Orders
Shopping List
Holiday Wardrobe Planner
Holiday Menu Planner
Holiday Recipes to Try
Holiday Baking Planner

These are pages you might print once and just keep in your binder:
Our Holiday Traditions
Holiday Favorites

Here are some I am ADDing this year
Decor Storage
Decor Inventory
Holiday Tabletop Planner
Holiday Party Planner
Holiday Party Guest
Holiday Party Budget
Potluck Planner

Most of these you can print once and just copy each year. The only ones that change because of dates is the Countdown Calendar. Even that one, if you white out the actual number you can just enter in the dates each year yourself.

My first Christmas Planner actually was much more smaller and came from Flylady.net its called the Holiday Control Journal. I still use some of the planning sheets from this one too.

Well, I am excited to get organized this week. I’ve printed my sheets and now its time to get to work.

Clean the Pantry Week

October 30, 2012 By Ligia

This week is Clean the Pantry week in our house. What does that mean? Clean the pantry week is the week I try to make all our meals from our pantry. Usually, it’s the week that has the last few days of an ending month and the first days of a new month. This week has 3 days from October and 2 days from November. I usually let myself get fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, and 1-2 added “deals”.

Here is the complete menu:

Monday
Lemon Chicken
cooked rice
steamed broccoli

Tuesday
tri tip
potatoes
asparagus

Wednesday
taquitos
corn
salad

Thursday
Chicken enchilada casserole

Friday
left over from the rest of the week

This really helps me to use up my pantry items and to save money. If I don’t “shop” once a month I really don’t miss out on much. I just don’t look at the ads so I don’t get tempted!

Groupon Deal: $10 for $20 at the Body Shop

October 29, 2012 By Ligia

Another Christmas Deal!

I always like to buy gifts on hand for those times when I am invited to a birthday party or even for Christmas gift giving. This is a 50% deal to one of my favorite shops.  There is not much time left, I’ve missed out on some deals because I didn’t act fast enough.
