Gluten Free Snowman Cookies

November 19, 2013 By Ligia

This past weekend was my 2nd Annual Gluten Free Cookie & Dessert Exchange. I made these cute Snowmen. Here is the post where I added the links for these and other desserts I made. I think they came out pretty good.

I used the Betty Crocker Gluten Free Cake Mix to make the cookies. See post for direction on those. You could use any sugar cookie recipe too.

I made Royal Icing and splattered it on the cookies. Then half melted the marshmallows. You have to be careful that you don’t over melt them. I used shortening to put on my fingers so I could pick them up with out sticking on me. You also should using cooking spray on the plate you use for the marshmallows so you can remove them off the plate without losing half the marshmellow. If you don’t want to melt them, just follow the instruction on this link. I think the melted face gives each snowman character 🙂

So here is the final product. I used a toothpick dipped in black cookie icing to make the eyes and arms. I used melted chocolate for the buttons. For the nose, I used the orange gel. You can also use candyIMG_2033

Update on Christmas Planner

November 11, 2013 By Ligia

My Christmas Planner has been dusted off and ready to go! This is Get Organized Week for me. I really like how my planner helps me to focus and get ready for Christmas Day. It allows me to feel like Christmas doesn’t creep up on me. Every year when I open my planner I look at all that went on the previous year, which is always fun. I also write a wishlist each year after Christmas which I use to know what I was lacking the year before. I also include a list of things I bought AFTER Christmas so I don’t forget what I bought. Those after Christmas purchases tend to get shoved in random tubs since sometimes I purchase things into mid January when they are practically free.

Some of the links on my previous Christmas Planner post are not working so here is a new link for all the planners:

Flylady has a more simpler planner and is what I started with so here is her link:

Gluten Free Cookies & Dessert Exchange

November 6, 2013 By Ligia

I am hosting a Gluten Free Cookies/Dessert Exchange for the second year in the row. So excited about the possible recipes! Last year we only had three attendees, but we got some wonderful recipes. I hoping we’ll have more than that this year and much more recipes to share.

I am scouring my christmas recipes to find 2-3 that I think will be great to share. I really REALLY love these:

Cookie Bark-(pictured above) my kid’s favorite Christmas treat. Use gluten free oreos

Raspberry Almond Bars (pictures on right).

Simply Sensational Truffles

Here are two new ones that I might try:

Sugar Cookies (using Betty Crocker Gluten Free Yellow Cake Mix)

I’m going to make Marshmellow Melted Snowman Cookies like these at this link.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Bars use gluten free oreos

Some of these are recipes I’ll have to adapt to make Gluten Free.
