November 28, 2013 By Ligia

So I found this video a few years ago. I know it’s about Christmas, but I think it applies to any holiday. I thought it was the funniest thing. I know now we don’t have to be without, but its still fun to watch.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Christmas Crafts: Claypot Christmas Tree

November 27, 2013 By Ligia

IMG_2075This is our family craft from last year. I looked and looked for directions on the web, but I can’t. So I will attempt to walk you through how I made them:

Supplies

Large claypot

Green and yellow paint

Other color paints for gifts

Ribbons for the gifts

Wooden star

Silver, black and gold thick sharpies

Directions:

1. I painted the clay pot in green. Then let it dry until I could add the glitter paint. Let it dry for a day.

2. Then I used masking tape on the bottom to paint the “gifts”. I wanted them to be pretty straight so I used the masking tape to mark off the gifts.  I removed the masking tape and painted the rest of the gifts.I let the paint dry.

3. I then used gold, silver or black sharpies to decorate the them.

4. I used several different ribbons to make the bows and used a glue gun to glue them on.

5. The last piece was painting the star in bright yellow and then some glitter paint.

5. Finally, I glued it to the top with a glue gun.

TADA! I great fun gift and decorative piece.

I love using clay pots see our Nativity clay pots from a couple years back.
