Selling My Stuff: Books & DVDs

November 15, 2014 By Ligia

I have been using different websites to sell my books, but recently I decided to focus my attention back to paperbackswap.com. I have sold my books on Amazon for a while, I don’t feel I make enough on the books to make it worth my time. Enter paperback swap.

Here is how it works:

I take all  my books: children, adult, etc and list them on the site. It is super easy because all you do is enter the ISBN.

When another member wants the book, I get an email that my book has been requested.

For every book I send to a member, I get credit on the website for books I might be interested in.

Within a week of posting my books, I got rid of three. Now when I come across a book title that I need for homeschooling or personal use, I can go on paperback swap and see if its available.

The postage is paid by the sender. So I load up my account with $10-$15 and use it up as I go. It is set up so you can use Paypal.

Their sister site DVD swap is the exact same. I had several workout DVDs that I did not want to just give away so I listed them here and have shipped off three DVDs already. I have three credits waiting to be used. The nice thing is I got rid of workout DVDs but I can get ANY DVD I want.

So here are the links:

ThredUP: Selling my stuff

October 3, 2014 By Ligia

My first bag is ready to go!

IMG_3314

I do not have much in it, but it is all New with tags. Let’s just say I have put on a few pounds….ugh. So I am sending my very best stuff to ThredUP in hopes that I will get the very best price. I can’t wait to find out what I end up getting. I won’t lie, I will be very disappointed if it is less than $30 bucks. I paid $70-$90 at least. All the pieces are Ann Taylor Loft or Banana Republic.

I have lots of nice used items but I am worried that they will not want it and donate it away! The whole point of this is for me to make some money to replace these items!!! I could pay $12.99 for them to return the pieces they reject, but then there goes my profit.

So I am going to do most of my selling on Tradesy.com. That will be my next post on “Selling My Stuff”

Gluten Free Donut Holes

October 1, 2014 By Ligia

Last week I tried a recipe for gluten free donut holes that were a flop. This week I tried changing the flour blend. So here is my new and improved gluten free donut holes!

IMG_3327

The original recipe is found on SparkRecipes called Faux (Baked) Healthy Donuts. The recipe itself is already gluten free but when I tried  it last week the kids didn’t like the Almond taste (neither did I).

So I switched the flour and added some glaze so here it is:

1/4 cup almond flour

1 cup Bob’s Red Mill All Purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

3 eggs

2 Tbsp honey

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/2 tsp vanilla extract.

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

Pour into greased donut pan.

Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

I used my Babycakes Cake Pop Maker instead of a donut pan. Popped them in for 6 minutes and they were ready!

Glaze:

2 Tbsp milk

1 cup powdered sugar.

Mix and then dunk the donut holes in the glaze.

I used a cookie rack and the glaze drips down so I put a piece of wax paper underneath.

Everyone loved them!
I am sharing this recipe on Gluten Free Wednesdays.
